Many automotive manufacturers are replacing their heavy steel frames with lightweight aluminum structures and exteriors to achieve greater fuel efficiency. As the auto repair industry braces itself for this sudden surge of new lightweight vehicles, the demand for aluminum-trained technicians who can weld has never been more critical.

Precision Body & Paint of Bend lead technicians Aaron Marcy and Jeff Fisher have completed the I-CAR Aluminum GMA (MIG) Welding course. This on-site intensive training was facilitated by I-CAR, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing the knowledge and training needed to perform safe, quality collision repairs. Topics included proper aluminum welding techniques and safety issues involved with aluminum, among others.
